Introduction
Welcome to Festival on the Moor Official Website.
The festival celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the North York Moors
National Park from Moor to Coast through traditional music, song, dance and
music from other genres too. Each year you will find a rich tapestry of performers
from jazz to folk rock in events held around England's largest National
Park - The North Yorks Moors.
Venues range from village green and open moorland to pubs, tea shops and village
halls.
The Festival on the Moor was first held in 2002 to celebrate the 50th Aniversary
of the North York Moors National Park. In 2003 it was established as a non
profit organisation with aims to benefit the local community through preserving
old traditions, education and tourism while helping foster understanding with
other cultures adjacent to the region.
Details of this years programme can be found here on our website. We hope
you come along and enjoy the diversity of music and everything else the festival
has to offer. Take advantage of our Early Bird Ticket offers...
